Thank you to everyone that participated in our Color for Friends event. We received over 300 letters and colored pictures that we were able to mail out to area nursing homes and assisted living center residents. A special thank you to Dairy Queen who provided a free ice cream cone or sundae to those that colored pictures. Thank you to KCHE, The Chronicle Times, Storm Lake Radio and KTIV who all helped spread the word about this wonderful cause. Thank you to our Cherokee County Fair Queens and Little Miss courts that helped deliver the letters. We ask that everyone continue to remember the residents that are not able to see their families and loved ones during this Covid Pandemic. We encourage people to go and wave and visit them through their windows, send letters, or colored pictures and think of their families as well, as it is hard on all of them.
We plan to make this a yearly event, because those that live in the nursing homes will always love to get mail. When the pandemic is over we will add food and family fun events to our night to promote family and friendships...something that is very important to all of us at Sioux Valley Family Health.
